Construction Site Details

First Time on Site

If you are a volunteer coming on site for the first time, please be sure you have participated in the safety video and filled out an online waiver form. Please also sign and bring the Volunteer Day Details form.

Signing-In Procedures at the Site

Please arrive on time. This is when work is explained and tasks are split up for the day, so it is imperative to arrive on time, if not early. We ask all volunteers to sign in and out every day, as we need to track volunteer hours for insurance and grant purposes. If you are able, please bring a canned good donation for our Food Pantry.

What to Wear

Work boots are preferred, but sneakers are acceptable as well. No sandals, flats, heels, Uggs, rainboots, etc will be allowed on site. We suggest you wear clothes you do not mind getting ruined, as they may get ripped or stained. Depending on the season, don't forget sun protection (hat/lotion).

What to Expect

It is extremely important to be flexible when you sign up for a volunteer day. There are many factors out of our control (weather, city permits, etc) so we cannot guarantee which task you will be doing ahead of time. The exact structure of your day may also vary, but will generally go as follows:

8:30am - Arrival (Please be on time!)
8:30am-9am - Orientation
9am - 12pm - Construction
12pm-1pm - Lunch
1pm-3:30pm - Construction
3:30pm-4pm - Clean Up

  • Safety is the responsibility of each volunteer
  • Report unsafe conditions to a construction supervisor
  • If you are unsure how to do a task, ask a construction supervisor
