You've served our country, now let us serve you!
Habitat for Humanity of Trenton encourages low to moderate income veterans or widows of veterans to apply for a new home at 0% interest mortgage. This home will be built in Mercer County. with the help of both current active duty, and retired military personnel.
- Applicants may not have owned a home in the last 3 years, and must be living in substandard housing currently (structural issues, unsafe neighborhood, high cost, overcrowding, and more are all considered substandard)
- Applicants must have a minimum income of $32,000 per year for a family of 1, 2, or 3 people. The minimum income increases with the number of people in the family.
- Applicants must be willing to partner - completing 300 hours of 'sweat equity', or volunteering, and attending all 6 education classes before moving in.
- Applicants must be able to make the monthly payments once they have moved in - for our Trenton properties, you can expect to pay around $750 per month for taxes, mortgage, and insurance. Other cities costs are higher, because their taxes are higher.
